The Nimrod Castle.
Sitting on the ledge of the castle wall, one can contemplate the vast plains of
Galilee. In a time without left-hand-drive vans, one wonders how Jesus could
have made the pilgrim's route that we were taking. Looking east, the Syrian
border, just across a river. We caught sight of a couple of rock hyraxes basking
in the sun on the rocky path up
to the castle gates. We had just spent a night in our
van which we parked in a friendly-looking
neighbourhood at Golan Heights. The castle
served both sanitary purposes as well
as a nice defrost from the freezing
temperatures the night before.
