Masjid Tanah
 

It is a 3-4 hour drive from Singapore to the small town of Masjid Tanah in Melaka, where Grandpa lived.

Besides clearing up Sungei Baru, the river that runs through it, it hasn't changed much. Many of the buildings pre-date even the first World War.

The back end of the town used to be flooded padi-fields where we could catch fighting fishes. It has now been developed into a shopping area and bus station. >>
