Looking at the fluttering prayer flags adorning the roofs of the Dukezong ancient town, I thought: wouldn’t it be wonderful it would be if the people could be could be protected simply by prayer flags instead of bristling missiles and cannons.

I can’t read Tibetan, but the characters make every flag look like a piece of art without really trying. The golden cylinder in the background is the Zhuanjingtong, which is the biggest prayer wheel in the world.
If I remember correctly from my last trip to Tibet, inside of each of these wheels are scrolls of scriptures and when you turn it in the clockwise direction, you are actually making a prayer.
